Our height-adjustable student desks are easy to adapt for everyone from young primary school children to adult-sized students. The stepless height is easily adjusted manually; no electricity is required. The desks can be raised from 75–119 cm. In the table below, you can see the approximate desk height that is suitable, but the easiest way is to simply set the desk to your navel height; this will give you a height that allows you to work comfortably with your arm at a 90° angle to the tabletop.
First and foremost, if you can, try to sit as high as possible and stretch. Once you've found a comfortable position, your arms should be able to rest relaxed at a 90° angle to the tabletop for optimal support.
The mat is for comfort when standing, and to allow you to stand for as long as you wish.
Place the rug so you can stand in the middle of it and rest your arms comfortably on the table at the same time. When you are not standing or at your table, you can hang the rug on the hook.
It's up to each individual to stand for as long as they feel comfortable. It entirely depends on how you're feeling and what you feel is right for you at that moment. Experiment!
Research shows that unfortunately, we sit too much and move too little here in Sweden. When you stand up, your body comes alive, you activate small muscles in your body, and both body and mind become more alert. The great thing about standing is that it's good both when you're tired and when you have “spring in your step.” When you feel tired and stand up, you become more alert, and if you're very energetic, standing up instead of sitting and fidgeting can help.
We believe that variety is best for the body. The StandUp DESK student desk is an adjustable height desk, meaning it's designed for you to work both standing and sitting with a desk height that's perfect for you – no matter how tall or short you are. So the chair is good to have on hand when you feel like sitting!
StandUp DESK is designed so that each student works with an optimal posture, both when standing and sitting. The desks provide a flexible work method that suits any classroom layout and subject. The lever used to raise and lower the desk can be placed on either side, allowing you to arrange the desks in pairs for group work, in a so-called cinema seating or U-shape. StandUp DESK can also be equipped with wheels on the front legs to be extra flexible for moving according to your specific purpose and objective for the day or subject. Feel free to experiment.
