Carpets for tough conditions

All our industrial-grade mats can withstand tough conditions, but they have different advantages and properties depending on whether they are made of natural rubber, synthetic rubber, or a combination.

Natural rubber is soft, resilient, and ergonomic, and is best suited for dry environments. Nitrile and synthetic rubber are more resistant to oils, greases, and chemicals, and are therefore well-suited for more demanding environments such as industry and workshops.

“The carpets really make a difference”

Mattings' 2,500 m² warehouse is located just outside Alingsås and is the true hub of operations. Here, we work closely with our products every day, which is noticeable in both our working methods and our results, says Mathias Järrebring, who has worked at the warehouse for 30 years and is one of three employees on the team.

At the workbenches, carpets are cut to customer specifications, often with custom dimensions and tailored edging. It's a craft in itself, where precision and experience make a big difference. And of course, we stand on our own carpets while we work.
At the cutting stations, we use the two-layer mats from the Yoga series, such as Yoga Deck Zedlan and Yoga Tailor Nitrile. They can withstand both trolleys and heavy loads, making the workday smoother and eliminating unnecessary lifting. At the packing stations, we use Yoga Super, and at our standing workstations, Yoga Original and Yoga Fashion.

It might sound simple, but the mats really make a difference. Especially for knees and feet, but also for energy. Many people find that they are significantly less tired at the end of the day compared to standing directly on a hard floor.

I saw them in the carpets in 2023 and they are still just as beautiful. For us, it's proof that sustainability isn't just something we talk about; it's something we live with every day.

No two days are the same in the warehouse. It can involve anything from tricky special solutions for entrances to making logistics work when we ship everything from small mousepads to carpet rolls weighing up to 150 kg. The variety and problem-solving are precisely what many of us find most enjoyable about the job.

We are also seeing how the market is changing. Previously, it was strongly linked to retail and professional stores, but today more and more carpets are sold through office retailers and interior designers. Our carpets in fixed lengths have made it easier to offer them online, which in turn makes them more accessible to the end customer. Today, you can easily order a carpet online while also ordering printer paper and coffee, concludes Mathias Järrebring.
