The results based on the surveyed group show, inter alia, that att:

Only 14% get enough exercise as well as eat enough of what their body needs. Only two in ten reach the recommended amount of physical activity. Teenage girls are the worst off.

Sitting in front of a screen takes up a lot of time, especially among young people. Nearly one in four teenagers spends five or more hours a day in front of a screen.

Adults are important role models for both physical activity and eating habits. Children whose guardians are not active themselves are more likely to be inactive.

The report finds that healthy exercise and dietary habits strengthen our immune system and reduce the risk of a number of conditions later in life, such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Therefore, society needs to take the results of the study seriously.

Read more

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.22.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”||0px||false|false” custom_padding=”||40px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_divider _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_divider][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_4,3_4″ use_custom_gutter=”on” _builder_version=”4.22.0″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”rgba(0,0,0,0)” width_tablet=”90%” width_phone=”90%” width_last_edited=”on|phone” custom_padding=”0px||0px||false|false” link_option_url_new_window=”on” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_4″ _builder_version=”4.22.0″ _module_preset=”8c6e1aff-bd25-414d-b28a-3b17ccc5ae18″ global_colors_info=”{}” custom_css_main_element_last_edited=”on|tablet” custom_css_main_element_tablet=”width: 50% !important;” custom_css_main_element_phone=”width: 50% !important;”][et_pb_image src=”https://matting.se/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/folkhalsomyndigheterna-barnsochungas-rorelsemonster.png” title_text=”public health authorities-children and young people-monsters of terror” _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”3_4″ _builder_version=”4.22.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”|30px|30px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_css_main_element_last_edited=”on|phone” custom_css_main_element_tablet=”width: 50% !important;” custom_css_main_element_phone=”width: 100% !important;”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”b748d011-be9d-4a0e-bf3f-bd091a547f7d” header_3_font=”|700||on|||||” custom_margin=”1px||-1px|||” custom_padding=”||13px|||” link_option_url_new_window=”on” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Inactive for most of their waking hours

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.22.0″ _module_preset=”b748d011-be9d-4a0e-bf3f-bd091a547f7d” custom_margin=”||0px|||” custom_padding=”||||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Report from the Swedish Public Health Agency, 2019
The report describes the movement patterns of Swedish children and young people, based on 11-, 13- and 15-year-olds who wore activity monitors for one week. The results show, among other things att:

Children and young people are inactive for most of their waking hours on any day of the week, i.e. stand or move very little.

Inactivity increases with age, by almost 10% from age 11 to 15, and boys are more active than girls of the same age.

The school day contributes about 35% of the week’s total physical activity at moderate and high levels of effort.

Those who experience high school stress are more inactive, both overall and during school hours.

In summary, activity has positive health benefits for the individual, both physically and mentally, and can also help to reduce health inequalities between different groups. It is therefore urgent to encourage and provide the conditions for more movement among children and young people, especially teenagers and girls.

Read more

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.22.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”||0px||false|false” custom_padding=”||40px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_divider _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_divider][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_4,3_4″ use_custom_gutter=”on” _builder_version=”4.22.0″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”rgba(0,0,0,0)” width_tablet=”90%” width_phone=”90%” width_last_edited=”on|phone” custom_padding=”0px||0px||false|false” link_option_url_new_window=”on” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_4″ _builder_version=”4.22.0″ _module_preset=”8c6e1aff-bd25-414d-b28a-3b17ccc5ae18″ global_colors_info=”{}” custom_css_main_element_last_edited=”on|tablet” custom_css_main_element_tablet=”width: 50% !important;” custom_css_main_element_phone=”width: 50% !important;”][et_pb_image src=”https://matting.se/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/nordic-council-of-ministers-svenska-barn-ror-sig-minst-i-norden.png” title_text=”nordic-council-of-ministers-swedish-children-are-at-least-in-the-nordics” _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”3_4″ _builder_version=”4.22.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”|30px|30px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_css_main_element_last_edited=”on|phone” custom_css_main_element_tablet=”width: 50% !important;” custom_css_main_element_phone=”width: 100% !important;”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”b748d011-be9d-4a0e-bf3f-bd091a547f7d” header_3_font=”|700||on|||||” custom_margin=”1px||-1px|||” custom_padding=”||13px|||” link_option_url_new_window=”on” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Swedish children are least active in the Nordic region

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.22.0″ _module_preset=”b748d011-be9d-4a0e-bf3f-bd091a547f7d” custom_margin=”||0px|||” custom_padding=”||||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Study by the Nordic Council of Ministers, 2011-2014

The study collected and analyzed a large amount of data on diet and physical activity in the Nordic countries between 2011 and 2014.
